Geog 111 Natural Hazards

This course introduces physical geography by exploring natural processes behind hazards like earthquakes, storms, landslides, and floods. You’ll learn how human development can turn hazards into disasters—or help mitigate them. With a focus on current events, this course connects real-world examples to key environmental concepts.

Geog 217 Maps and GIS

The course provides a conceptual and practical introduction to maps and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Students are introduced to techniques and fundamentals of spatial data and analysis. Topics include: scale, map interpretation, and digital mapping.
