Geog 105 Geography and British Columbia
Explore the unique geography of British Columbia, from its towering mountains to coastal rainforests. This course covers the province’s natural landscapes, climate, and ecosystems, as well as the human impact on the environment. You’ll also learn about how geography shapes life in the region.


Geog 111 Natural Hazards
This course introduces physical geography by exploring natural processes behind hazards like earthquakes, storms, landslides, and floods. You’ll learn how human development can turn hazards into disasters—or help mitigate them. With a focus on current events, this course connects real-world examples to key environmental concepts.
Geog 236 Geography of Cities
The course aims to outline the origins, growth, and development of cities. The problems and issues of migration, urbanization, and metropolitan changes in both developed and less developed countries will be examined. A study of urban policy, planning and future trends will also be undertaken.


Geog 227 Advanced GIS Applications
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) encompass a powerful set of tools that can be used to find solutions to a vast range of problems in Geography and other disciplines. Building on their previous GIS knowledge, students will further hone and grow these skills as they critically analyze how to best apply them to real-world situations.
